Medical Massage Practitioner

The Medical Massage Practitioner is dedicated to the training of skilled medical assistants and massage therapists through an educational program with emphasis on ethics, professionalism, disciplined study and skillful practice.  The program objective is for the student to develop proficiency and confidence in the administrative and clinical areas of medical assisting and therapeutic massage techniques.

Students learn massage skills, develop a comprehensive understanding of the structure and function of the body, and the effects of massage therapy on the body.  They also gain an understanding of the benefits and limitations of massage therapy, and the knowledge necessary to refer clients to other professional health care givers when appropriate.

Graduates may work in a variety of positions.. including chiropractic and physician offices, hospitals, nursing homes, sports medicine clinics and spa/health clubs.  All graduates are eligible to take the certification examination to become a Registered Medical Assistant, and to take the national certification examination and apply for licensure as a Massage Therapist.
